Artists Palette

from $1,286.00

This image was made in Death Valley at Artist’s Palette, a place where color and geology collide in ways that don’t feel real until you’re standing there.

Layers of mineral-stained rock sweep across the hills in subtle transitions, each color shaped over time by heat, pressure, and erosion. What drew me to this scene wasn’t just the variety of color, but how naturally it all flowed together. Nothing felt forced. The landscape had already done the work. I just had to frame it.

This photograph went on to win Best of Show in 2024 at a local photography exhibition, an honor that meant a lot because it was judged among a wide range of styles and subjects. The recognition confirmed what I felt when I first saw the final print. Sometimes a place speaks clearly if you give it room.

Each Artist’s Palette print is released as a limited edition and is printed by me personally using museum grade archival materials. I handle the entire printing process myself, from file preparation to final color and tonal adjustments, ensuring the subtle color transitions remain true and balanced. Edition No. 1 has been placed in a private collection. The current release is Edition No. 2 of 13.

This piece is about time, restraint, and letting the landscape do what it has always done.
